Dog is his name

This dog was dumped out here in the country where we live and we took him in after he wondered around for 2 months. When I finally got him to come up to me he was skin and bones. We got him some dog food and he has been here since then. That was 6 years ago. Not a mean bone in his body and my cats rule his life. If they step in front of him he will stop dead in his tracks and not move until they walk away. And theyknow it to. Mouse loves to go up to him and rub all over him. I think she would be lost without him around. His name is "Dog" or "Puppy". He is what I call a brake in the breed Callie. We found his owners 2 years after we took him in and they no longer wanted him. Oh well, I think we will keep him around.

my kitties

From top left is Scotty, Mouse, Monkey, and Snickers. Mouse is the mother to Monkey and Snickers. I found Mouse 8 years ago at the prison where I work as a Kitten and Monkey and Snickers are the only 2 kittens I kept of hers. Scotty is a 'Scottish Fold' breed that my mother got for me about 12 years ago from a breeder for $300 (cheap) because he has a short tail. He is a nuetered house cat with NO personality. But I love them all.

wild flowers galore

My husband planted a wild flower bed. They are in full bloom. I had a few 4 o'clocks get mixed in. And not to mention a few weeds.

Fair time in August 2009

Well another county fair has come and gone for 2009. This fair did bring me 5 blue ribbons and a purple (reserve grand champion). I entered in a feather and fan hat and scarf, 2 crochet afghans, and a ripple dish cloth. One of the afghans is a round ripple and that one brought me the reserve grand champion. It was a great fair this year. I even talked a couple of coworkers into placing some of their hand made projects in and they did and they both got blue ribbons as well. I was however suprised that I got a blue ribbon for my granny square afghan, I was thinking of red (second place) but I did get blue for it. Now time to sit down and plan for next year.
